Out of...curiosity. What sort of New Year's resolutions would you make for a year you weren't supposed to have?

Especially in a place like this.

[There was no need to say what she was referring to. And this long night just made it worse. It just kept replaying in her mind on what happened...but she had to push it aside. It would be selfish of her to think that.]

As a doctor, I recommend not going for that middle one; you're skinny enough.

Yeah...that'd be too easy though, wouldn't it? [He's already decided not to bother her with too many of his thoughts. She was, generally, a happy person...he didn't want that to change. Too much had been happening.]

Don't remind me. Some of the people here...they're going to get unhealthy really quickly. Male-nutrition is something I can't prescribe for.

We'll have to help ourselves in that case. Organize a hunting party or install some agriculture. There are a lot of things to be done, and to be honest with you, the sooner we get to work the better. Idle days are poison for a man's mind.

Why bother loosing weight when I can stay the same size and just increase or decrease the density of my mass on a whim?

As for the resolution I would normally make, create an invention that tops the previous years creation.

You make a fair point, Edmund. Luckily enough, one of the towns is good for planting things...hunting, I hear, is a bit dodgy, though. It's doable, but not all of the monsters are edible.

Yeah...me neither. [Sigh.] Don't worry about it; I might not have gotten sick from it, but I showed up same way a long time ago. No reason not to help.

See? Now that's a resolution that seems worthwhile. It doesn't involve other people, or some loose moral scale, it's just you and your expectations.

Need to be more resolutions like that.
