Out of...curiosity. What sort of New Year's resolutions would you make for a year you weren't supposed to have?

Especially in a place like this.

Cause you're not home. Things aren't the same here like they were at home; no point in pretending otherwise.

I guess so. But, like those weight resolutions, no one really follows those.

Don't remind me. Some of the people here...they're going to get unhealthy really quickly. Male-nutrition is something I can't prescribe for.

We'll have to help ourselves in that case. Organize a hunting party or install some agriculture. There are a lot of things to be done, and to be honest with you, the sooner we get to work the better. Idle days are poison for a man's mind.

You make a fair point, Edmund. Luckily enough, one of the towns is good for planting things...hunting, I hear, is a bit dodgy, though. It's doable, but not all of the monsters are edible.

To not lose anyone, I guess. It's a pointless resolution, but it was always one I stuck with when I practiced back home.

If you know this, then why do you hold yourself to such a standard? [He hopes he's not meddling too much, but there's something more than curiosity in Ed's voice.]

Dunno. Don't have anything else to do. I suppose it's some sick human thing that people do. It's like those stupid weight goals that everyone knows they won't follow through with.

You're the one who asked. Where you expecting some grandiose speech about how by setting these goals for myself I'm striving to be a better person than I was before? Sorry, I don't believe in that method of self-help.

Not much. Though it's disappointing to hear you say that you think there's nothing else to be done, and that's why you settled for this goal.

Sorry, but in this sort of place my options are limited. I don't have a goal to get back home and since I'm a doctor here seems to me my best bet for having any resolution at all would be to make one in that area.
